Gundersen Health System, home of Respecting Choices, is proud to be a founding member of the newly formed Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC). The coalition, which was recently announced, aims to change the way our country handles advanced illness care.
Gundersen Health System has long been an international leader in improving care for people who are the sickest and most vulnerable, and C-TAC's mission and goals are consistent with Gundersen Health System's efforts. The Coalition is calling for reforms to help Americans prepare for and navigate complex issues related to advanced illnesses, such as cancer, heart disease, COPD, diabetes, stroke, and dementia. Specifically, C-TAC will focus on empowering consumers, changing the healthcare delivery system, improving public and private policies, and enhancing provider capacity.
Bernard J. Hammes, PhD, Director of Respecting Choices and Gundersen Health Systems's Director of Medical Humanities, is part of C-TAC's board of directors. Learn more about the organization, its mission, and the people behind it.
